Hello, I’m Kimberley - Founder of Colourful Communicators

Originally from Zimbabwe, I moved to Ireland as a child and completed my schooling and university studies in Cork. I graduated as a Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) from UCC in 2013 and shortly afterwards decided to move back to the Southern Hemisphere and start my career in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

I worked for the Ministry of Education in Auckland for eight years- supporting children, parents, & educators through an inclusive practice & natural environment approach. I found myself particularly passionate about working alongside Autistic & neurodivergent children and their families, so went on to work in a specialist school the following two years. It was during this time that I found a love of AAC, assistive technology, and supporting individuals with multiple disabilities & complex communication needs. I am now back in Ireland and excited for the next chapter ahead.

I have always felt a strong desire to help people and to advocate for those who can’t always advocate for themselves. I set up Colourful Communicators in the hope that I can reach more people who need my support, and can share my expertise without the restrictions that can sometimes, unfortunately, come within other organizations.

I am so looking forward to getting to know and supporting as many families & educators as I can 😊

Outside of therapy, I am out and about in nature with my boys! We are an adventurous and nature loving family who love the beach, camping, hiking, and befriending all the animals and little creatures we can find!
