MHORO, DIA DHUIT, KIA ORA!
Hello, I’m Kimberley - Founder of Colourful Communicators
CORU Registered Senior Speech & Language Therapist
SL068521
Background:
Originally from Zimbabwe, I moved to Ireland as a child and completed my schooling and university studies in Cork. I graduated as a Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) from UCC in 2013 and shortly afterwards decided to move back to the Southern Hemisphere and start my career in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
I worked for the Ministry of Education in Auckland for eight years- supporting children, parents, & teachers through an inclusive practice & natural environment approach. I found myself particularly passionate about working alongside Autistic & neurodivergent children and their families, so went on to work in a Specialist School for the following two years. It was during this time that I found a love of AAC, assistive technology, and supporting individuals with complex communication needs.
Before I knew it, and after a few ✨signs from the universe✨, ‘Colourful Communicators’ was born and my family and I decided it was time to make the move back to Ireland to start our next chapter.
Outside of therapy practice… I am out and about in nature with my boys! We are an adventurous & nature loving family who love the beach, camping, hiking, and pottering around in our little garden.
